    Tips for drivers & guides

– The Chittagong Hill Tracts is one of the most remote and culturally rich regions of Bangladesh. In the past, there were conflicts between Rangamati and Bandarban, but after the Peace Accord, the area is now considered safe for foreign travelers. However, to ensure safety and smooth travel, visitors must obtain a special permit before exploring this region.
– To secure a travel permit for CHT (Chittagong Hill Tracts), an application must be submitted at least seven working days in advance. Required documents include a valid passport, visa, and a completed application form attached to the tour itinerary. A registered travel agency can assist in processing the permit.

– The indigenous communities in the hills are warm and welcoming, but since they are not accustomed to frequent tourists, a local guide is necessary for visits, especially in certain areas of Rangamati and Bandarban. The tribal people tend to be more reserved compared to the general Bangladeshi population. For photography, it is always best to ask for permission beforehand as a sign of respect.
