Old Dhaka, the historic heart of Bangladesh’s capital, offers a captivating glimpse into the city’s vibrant past. Formerly known as Dacca until 1982, this ancient urban settlement dates back to the 7th century and thrives along the banks of the Buriganga River (formerly known as the Old Ganges). Today, it stands as the most dynamic and bustling area of the Dhaka Metropolitan Region, rich in history and culture.

Our Old Dhaka tour package takes you on a journey through the city’s rich heritage and iconic landmarks. Highlights include Sadarghat, the main river terminal; the stunning Ahsan Manzil (Pink Palace); the lively Islampur Cloth Market, the largest textile market in Bangladesh; and the historic streets of Shakhari Bazaar, famous for its conch shell artisans. You’ll also visit architectural marvels such as the Armenian Church, Star Mosque, Lalbagh Fort, Khan Mohammad Mridha Mosque, and Dhakeswari Temple.

To provide a touch of contrast, the tour includes a visit to the iconic National Parliament Building in modern Dhaka. Engage in unique experiences such as a boat ride on the Buriganga River, where you can witness the daily life of river commuters, and a rickshaw ride through the narrowest and busiest streets of Old Dhaka, offering an authentic taste of the city’s hustle and bustle.

Recognized and recommended by leading travel guides like Lonely Planet and TripAdvisor, this tour promises an immersive dive into Bangladeshi culture, heritage, and the vibrancy of everyday life. Explore the sights, sounds, and stories that make Old Dhaka a must-visit destination for travellers seeking a genuine cultural adventure.
